Hair transplant without shaving your head!
Finally! Have you considered whether hair transplantation is something for you but have been reluctant to shave your head? We now do the vast majority of hair transplants without having to shave everything, on the contrary, we want the hair to remain! But with Neograft, we gently remove hair follicles from the back of the head one by one and then place them where you want them, one by one. Sure, it takes a little time, but we know that it is more appreciated by our patients.
In the back of the head where we pick out the hair follicles to be moved, we often want mm-short hair in an area whose size varies based on the amount of hair follicles to be moved. Sometimes we recommend that you cut yourself in a “fade” hairstyle to make it as discreet as possible. Where the hair follicles are to be inserted, usually in the front of the hairline or temples/folds, the hair can remain.
How can it be so different? Many people travel to Turkey to have a cheaper procedure and many places there have “assembly line technology”. Sometimes several patients even lie on beds in the same room and the hair follicles are extracted as quickly as possible. This often means that unnecessarily many hair follicles are taken because many are damaged and become unusable. Since many patients later in life have a “filling”, it is of course completely insane to destroy hair follicles for no good. Maybe you need them later!
As the first clinic in Sweden, we use Neograft to gently pick out the hair follicles we are going to move, we don't take more than we need! There is a limited number of hair follicles and we are careful about them!

Hair transplant in Gothenburg or abroad?
Hair transplantation is a rapidly growing field and the method has improved significantly in recent years. With the technological advances that have been made, the results are now really good. The long scars at the back of the head or small tufts of hair that looked like a doll's are a thing of the past!
Hair transplantation has been done for a long time, but the technique has been improved and refined. The modern FUE technique (Follicular Unit Extraction) involves moving individual hair follicles from the back of the head to the empty areas at the crown and hairline. The first transplant for so-called "male pattern baldness" was performed in New York in the 50s.
The pattern of typical male pattern baldness is that the forehead becomes higher, the folds at the temples become deeper and at the same time or later the hair on the top of the head falls out.
What's really exciting is that the hair follicles on the back of the head usually last a lifetime, even if we move them! That's the basic requirement for hair transplantation.
Hair transplants are time-consuming and many are attracted by cheap prices in places like Turkey. Within the industry, it is noticeable that more and more people are coming with substandard results and sad experiences after having their treatment there. Of course, there are also good clinics with doctors who are skilled, but unfortunately that does not always seem to be the case. We have heard some really sad stories and would like to raise a warning finger for all types of medical tourism. Not least for the high percentage of resistant bacteria that are found in large parts of southern Europe and that we here at home are relatively spared from. Being able to see your doctor both before and after a procedure should also be a given.
With us you always meet a dermatologist at least once, often twice before a transplant, then you go through the conditions and expectations. For a transplant to be successful in the long term, you must choose the right time. There may also be alternative treatments such as prescription medications that can be a first step in treating hair loss or complement a transplant.
A leading country when it comes to hair transplants is the USA, where the procedure is usually performed by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has both the medical knowledge of skin and hair and is used to working with aesthetics. In recent years, Neograft has become an extremely popular tool in the USA. Neograft is used to remove hair follicles gently and with high precision, which provides high quality of the hair follicles to be moved. This in turn increases the percentage of hair follicles that attach and heal in the new place.
