Fillers

There are a variety fillers on the market, both permanent and non-permanent. On Elite Clinic We only use non-permanent fillers made from chemically produced hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our bodies and breaks down slowly, so does the product we inject. How long it lasts depends on both the type of product but also where we inject and individual variations. We use Restylane which is one of the first on the market and was also developed in Sweden, many millions of treatments have been performed with Restylane.

Common treatment areas are of course the lips and corners of the mouth, but also the fold between the nose and mouth, the so-called nasolabial fold. Volume on the cheeks or in the tear trough to counteract circles under the eyes is also common. Noses can, with a very small dose, have a change in shape that means a lot to the profile.

The treatment

The treatment is done with extremely thin needles, often soft and blunt to avoid unwanted effects. No preparation is required and the treatment is quick, rarely taking more than 30-45 minutes.

Results

The results of the treatment are immediate, but depending on the product, the effect will set in over the next few days as the hyaluronic acid binds moisture and the swelling subsides. How long the results last varies from person to person, but also depends on the area and the product used.

Follow-up

No special follow-up is needed, but you are always welcome to return for a follow-up visit if there is anything you are wondering about.

Aftercare and convalescence

Immediately after a treatment, you should avoid massaging the treated areas and also refrain from strenuous physical exercise for the first day. Swelling in the first few days is common. Otherwise, no recovery time is needed and you can live as usual.

Risks and complications

There may be small bruises at the injection site and sometimes a little redness occurs a few hours after the treatment. In very rare cases, allergic reactions have occurred. If hyaluronic acid is injected incorrectly into a blood vessel, this can become blocked and complications may occur. Hyalase is a natural enzyme that is also produced to be used if the product is injected incorrectly. If it is injected into the product, it breaks down.
