AHA, PHA and BIONIC PHA

AHA, alphahydroxy acid, which is still one of the most widely used and well-documented active ingredients in advanced skin care, has the ability to gently release the top layer of skin from dead cells and stimulate the cell renewal process. The best-known AHA acid is glycolic acid. AHA acids also build up the skin's supporting matrix, which makes the skin feel firmer and smoother. The quality of collagen and elastin is improved and the natural occurrence of hyaluronic acid is stimulated. AHA acids also have the property of helping to prevent pores from clogging. This is a very important part of the care of acne-prone skin, since the formation of clogged pores is the first step in the development of acne.

PHA, polyhydroxy acid, is a further development of AHA technology and is often called the “second generation fruit acid”. PHA is a highly moisturizing and barrier-building ingredient that was also developed by the creators of NeoStrata. PHA gets its name from the fact that it contains many “hydroxy groups” that bind moisture – unlike regular AHA acids that only contain one hydroxy group. PRODUCT ADOPTION
