Renuvion - Liposuction with Skintightening

When skin is loose after weight loss, pregnancy or age, we can help tighten it by using Renuvion.

Renuvion is a unique treatment that uses helium plasma to heat the tissue under the skin, which contracts and lifts the skin. In addition to tightening the skin, it can also reduce cellulite and uneven skin. It can be used in conjunction with liposuction or without liposuction if only the skin is loose. All areas of the body can be treated, especially the neck and upper arms, but also the stomach, back and inner thighs. Even a minor breast lift can be done.

THE OPERATION

First, we inject an anesthetic fluid that also contains adrenaline to reduce bleeding before we create channels in the fat and, if necessary, also suck out some fat using a modern method PAL, power assisted liposuction, which makes the operation easier with a greater possibility of smaller irregularities. When this is done, we insert the Renuvion cannula into the fat and activate the plasma effect that contracts the tissue and skin. The operation is usually performed under general anesthesia, but we can do smaller areas with local anesthesia. Immediately after the operation, you will be given a compression garment in the form of a girdle, pants or vest, depending on the area that has been operated on..

RESULTS

The effect is clear immediately after the surgery, but since swelling can linger for a long time, it takes a little longer before you can see the final result. The effect of Renuvion comes gradually over the first 6-9 months.

FOLLOW-UP

After a week you will return to the clinic to have the stitches removed and to check that everything is healing properly. Bruising and swelling are common, but they will go away on their own. Compression garments need to be worn for the first 4-6 weeks to get the best results and lymphatic massage is also a good idea to start as soon as the soreness allows.

 

AFTERMATH AND CONVALESCENCE

Liposuction with Renuvion is usually not very painful and you can get back on your feet quickly. Of course, this depends on how much liposuction has been done. It is good for the result if you have massages or LPG treatments starting a week or so after surgery. It is unusual to need a sick leave for liposuction alone, but you may need to be home from work for a few days.

 

RISKS AND COMPLICATIONS

There is a risk of bleeding and infection with all procedures, but with liposuction this is very rare. Blood clots, which can be a serious complication, do occur but are rare. We always assess whether you should receive blood-thinning medication after the operation.

Different people and areas of the body are different for liposuction. Excess skin is reduced with Renuvion treatment, but it is not possible to say how much effect it will have after the treatment. With liposuction, there can always be more or less clear irregularities in the subcutaneous fat. Renuvion treatment uses the plasma spark to create heat up to 85 degrees for a very short time. There is a risk of burns, but that risk is very small and we have never seen this complication so far.

 

AREAS

All areas of the body can be treated, although some areas are more suitable.

  • Chin and neck are common and appreciated areas to have liposuction and treat with Renuvion because it provides an immediate effect on jawline and profile.
  • Liposuction and treatment with Renuvion by arms usually gives a very good result.
  • Breast that are starting to sag can be treated with Renuvion, which provides a lift and also the area towards the armpit, which lies like a pillow.
  • Liposuction and Renuvion treatment of stomach and sides is good and if there is too much skin and fat, it can be combined with a mini tummy tuck or a large tummy tuck.
  • The hips or “love handles” is an area that bothers both women and men. These fat deposits are often difficult to get rid of, despite exercise and a good diet.
