At the beginning of December I visited Bergamo in northern Italy, where one of the leading nasal surgeons is Dr. Robotti.
A new concept is preservation rhinoplasty, which means that you try to preserve the transition between the nasal bone and the cartilage in the nasal bridge. This is done in various ways by loosening the bone and cartilage far down on the nose and then letting the nose sink down in a controlled manner. This method is called "let down" or "push down".
This can then be combined with so-called structural techniques where the tip of the nose is corrected in the usual way if needed.
Some of Dr. Robotti's techniques for nose surgeries are new and actually very good. It feels really good to be at the forefront of the nose surgeries we can offer at Elite Clinic.

When is the best time of year for surgery?
When is the best time of year to have surgery? A common question we get is: – Now is not a good time to have the surgery because it is the month of menstruation?
The time in question is July-August, but it's about food and not about surgeries and wounds...
However, there are several operations where compression garments are an important part of the aftercare to achieve a perfect result and then it is difficult if it is the height of summer and a heat wave. So yes, there are operations that are suitable for different times of the year. Perhaps the most important thing is to take into account what is happening in life so that recovery and healing do not interfere with important events such as weddings, vacations, ski trips, etc.
With that said, we are now entering late summer, fall and winter and these seasons are ideal for several plastic surgeries that require compression garments. Even though summer is a wonderful time of year, autumn isn't so bad either! A certain calm settles over life when it gets a little greyer and darker outside. The sunny half of the year always creates a little stress to take advantage of the nice weather. Now you can sit inside and read a good book with a clear conscience.
This fall, just like spring, is likely to be a bit special, we still have restrictions for the Coronavirus and no one really knows when we can return to normal. But will we go back to handshakes and hugs or will we have changed our behavior? The travel industry has had a real downturn and one wonders when we can start traveling “as usual”.
However, we see that most people, just as before (or perhaps even more) care about how they feel. Just as before, people prioritize health and well-being and strive to be happy with themselves. Maybe we have more time for ourselves now that so much is at a standstill?

Face with balance
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and despite thousands of years of attempts to mathematically calculate what is beautiful, it has never been completely successful. People often talk about the “ golden ratio ” which was already known to ancient Greeks such as Pythagoras and even Leonardi da Vinci used the golden ratio, or the divine ratio as it is also called, much later in his paintings and sculptures.
Symmetry in the face is unusual by nature but often something to strive for in various treatments with fillers or surgery . There are situations with imbalance in the face that are clearly noticeable, an example is a so-called "floating chin" . This gives a profile that looks unbalanced and especially in cases where the nose is a little larger.
Some people seek it for their big nose , but with chin augmentation, the nose is no longer perceived as big. Sometimes it may be a rhinoplasty in combination with an enlarged chin that provides the balance you are looking for. The chin can be enlarged in different ways. The easiest thing may be to try a filler, i.e. a product that gradually breaks down. The advantage of this is that the product disappears and the disadvantage is the same because you need to repeat the treatment if you want to maintain the effect. A lasting alternative is to use an implant, usually made of silicone. Although it is a surgical procedure, it is often a simple operation that only leaves a small scar under the chin.
There are few surgeries that provide such good balance in the face as chin augmentation / chin implant for a receding chin.
